Multiple Videos Show Shockingly Violent Arrest of UA Students Over a Noise Complaint

Tuscaloosa, AL — Multiple videos of the same violent arrest of three University of Alabama students have gone viral this week, leaving many wondering why such force was used for an alleged noise complaint.
As the video starts out, an officer is seen attempting to yank a student from his apartment. The other students answer in protest, telling the officer that he is illegally entering their apartment.
After the officer initiated an assault on the student, he then claims that student is “under arrest for harassment for grabbing my arm.”
The officer then pulls out his asp and begins jabbing it into the student’s chest. It is at this point that backup arrives and the scene turns into chaotic violence.
In an interview with AL.com, a female witness described a chaotic scene as three people were taken into custody: ‘They had a girl and two boys on the ground. They were all screaming and everyone was videoing it.’
While the details of the scenario are vague, one thing is certain, the level of violence applied by police was over the top. Adding to the obscurity of the situation, police have not said what, if any, charges the trio is facing.
Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steve Anderson told AL.com he received the footage last night and has forwarded it to the department’s internal affairs investigators.
